Ransarn Creek, a mountain creek with its source in Lake Bije-Ransarn. Lake Bije-Ransarn is located on the border to Norway with half the lake in Norway. The creek ends in Lake Kultsjon north of the Village Saxnas after passing through two rather large lakes, Lake Ransarn and Lake Gaika. The upper stretch, above Lake Ransarn is the stretch of interest. The creek finds its way through a lovely mountain valley and alternates between calmer parts and rapids. The water is crystal clear and the trout are shy. Trout is the only species in this creek and in August every year fish up to lb 8 with the exception of some even larger are caught. Nice stretches are the ones below Mount Rautemetjalte and below Mount Skible. The creek is as if made for fly fishing, the bottom usually consists of sand and gravel and as such is easy to wade in. Be careful to check the depth before wading, the very clear water plays tricks with Your perception of how deep it is. A smaller problem can be the fact that at certain sections of the creek are framed in by dense vegetation such as waist high shrubs. Ransarn Creek is quite sensitive to rain water as well as melt water, both which makes the creek flood significantly. There are some smaller tributaries worth mentioning, Fremsjokk Creek, Luoktjemjokk Creek, Tjatjas Creek, Skarnjojokk Creek and Grasan Creek, all mentioned in the order they enter Ransarn Creek. The upper part is about 30 kilometres long.
