Vittangijokk  Creek is a grayling fishermans dream. It's more like a river allthough the Same word jokk means creek, this due to the fact that it’s quite large. Also, the maps speak of Vittangietno further downstream, etno that comes from the Same language and means river.

The upper part of Vittangijokk from the source Lake Vittangijaure down to Lake Tahkojaure is fairly wide and alternates between rapids and calmer stretches. Below Tahkojaure the river gets narrower as it flows through a flat landscape surrounded by mountain birches and waist high shrubs. The dense vegetation surrounding the lower parts of the river makes it somewhat difficult to follow, but it’s worth it since the fishing is great.

Situated directly north of the Esrange Space range is the outlet of the tributary Sekkujokk Creek.

From Lake Vittangijaure to the outlet in Torne River Vittangijokk/Vittangietno covers a stretch of 65 kilometres.
