Ayers rock

Yes, this is how it looks, the worlds largest stone! Yes, you red stone. It's nothing but sand benith it.

Ayers rock has always been holy for the aboriginals. They call it Uluru. According to them putting your foot on this stone is a seious crime. If climbing, you'll have to take it real slow and bring a lots of water. Many people through the years have fallen, with injuries as a result, when climbing along the chain. Before entering the chain you should read the sign carefully. It says that it is on your own risk. No one will take any resbonsibility if you fall.
In some parts it is inpossibly to advance without the help of chain.

Another thing you shouldn't forget in these mountains is flyspray. Enormous amount of flies lives here in the summer. There is also good chanses to see kangaroo between the cliffs. They usually lies still in the shadow in daytime.

Kings canyon

Look at the small people on the other side

Kings canyon is a large mountainous district which is reaching a couple of kilometers in the desert. It has very fine walking tracks with a various length. The shortest will take about 2 hours while the longest takes a whole day.

When we were here we paid about 100A$ each for a 25 minutes chopper ride over the canyon. It was defenetily worth the money.
Down in the canyon you'll find some trees.....but very dry trees.
Inside one of the canyons is a small spring with crystal cleer water. It's almost made for a cooling swim under the hot sun.

Great cliffs and astonishing nature.

On Kings canyon resort we choosed to live in our tents to save some money (because of the choppertour). At this time everybody laugh at us since it was scorpion time at the moment. The owner almost let us stay for free in one of the cabins. Well, we kept the zipper closed in the tent. Everybody who stays here can use the pool.
You'll have to keep your eyes open where to put your feets. This little fellow ran around inside the toilkets at the camping area.
