The game of Kubb

The game of Kubb is an easy lawn (or sand field) game played by two opposing teams of one to six persons each. The equipment may be sticks and wood pieces "Kubbs," but there are also ready-made games for sale. It is said that the game originates from the Swedish island of Gotland.

Material:

Bullet 10 wood pieces, the "Kubbs," 15-20 cm high and thick enough to be able to stand on end even in a wind gust (number 1 on the sketch below)

Bullet  1 larger wooden piece, the King, clearly higher than the ordinary Kubbs (number 2 on the sketch below)

Bullet  6 wooden sticks, throwing sticks, 30-40 cm long round wood sticks, thick enough to make them easy to hold and to throw

Bullet  4 thin short sticks, corner sticks, used to mark the corners of the field (number 3 on the sketch below)

The field:

We mark a playing field of a size which suits the youngest team members. The lines do not have to be drawn, and the short sides (with Kubbs) are called the "base lines" in the rules below.

The rules we use are here on their own page.
