The best ways to use the arsenal of weapons provided in Worms are as follows, the weapons in the reinforcements pack are just the same with the exception that you can retreat your worm and that you can get super strength packs of weapons, which makes it possible to develop new strategies...






Weapon F-key and How to Use Hints and Tips Max Damage

Bazooka
F1 Aim with the up and down arrow keys and press and hold down space for as much power as you want for the launch. The rocket will explode when hitting anything and is affected by both gravity and wind. Always check the wind before firing with this! The Bazooka has many uses. The standard may be just to shoot to make damage and in such cases it's much better to do 50 pts on each hit isn't it? Just aim a little higher than your target and don't hold space to max power, just about 3/4 and in most cases the hit will be more exact. Bazookas can also be used to throw worms into the water and do more damage than other weaps like shotgun if it doesn't works out like planned. And always remember to calculate the wind and maybe you'll be able to hit worms at hard places. 50

Homing Missile
F1 x 2 Move the pointer, click and a crosshair will appear at the desired target. Then aim with the up and down arrow keys and press and hold down space for as much power as you want for the launch. Use about the same tactics as bazooka. The most common way of being sure to hit your target is to aim straight up and shoot with full power. 50

Grenade
F2 Set fuse to 1-5 seconds with the number keys and bounce to Max or Min with the + and - keys. Then aim with the up and down arrow keys and press and hold down space for as much power as you want for the throw. The grenade explodes when the fuse reaches 0. Like all grenade weapons only affected by gravity. May be recieved in "Super strength" packages in Reinforcements. It's harder to do the full 50 point hit with this but it has many other capabilities which complements that. If a worm stands in a kind of U-shaped place it's best to set timer to 4-5 secs, maybe max bounce, and add little more strength to the throw. 50

Cluster Bomb
F2 x 2 Set fuse to 1-5 seconds with the number keys and bounce to Max or Min with the + and - keys. Then aim with the up and down arrow keys and press and hold down space for as much power as you want for the throw. When the timer reaches zero, the clusterbomb will explode and throw out clusters. May be recieved in "Super strength" packages in Reinforcements. Cluster bomb in worms original is more powerful than many think. Why? Because if the bomb is thrown so that it's inside of something solid (like a worm or the ground)all the bombs will go off at the same time, doing a LOT OF damage. So, use in small cavern places, in flat places the grenade often does more damage. 30 x 5 clusters

Banana Bomb
F2 x 2 Set fuse to 1-5 seconds with the number keys and bounce to Max or Min with the + and - keys. Then aim with the up and down arrow keys and press and hold down space for as much power as you want for the throw. The Bananabomb will then explode when the timer reaches zero, throwing high-explosive bananas all over the place. The Banana bomb must be (at least) one of the best weapon in Worms. Use the Cluster tactics if you want, but often it's just to throw it to your soon-to-be-ex worm enemies. 75 x 5 Bananas

Shotgun
F3 Aim with the up and down arrow keys and press space to shoot. Note: you will have two shots, one for each barrel. Good for picking off low health worms, altering the terrain, doing it more walk and run-able, or alternatly push worms into water or off screen (point on the head rather than the ground it's standing on, the later will just make it fall down into safety in the hole created there). Be sure that you're on safe distance from your target as richochetts hurts. 25 x 2 shots

Uzi
F3 x 2 Aim with the up and down arrow keys and press space to shoot a burst of ten bullets. Use when a worm stand against a wall or cavity so that it will remain there and all shots will hit. Not good for long range as shots will spread out. Be sure that you're on safe distance from your target as richochetts hurts, and will make you stop fireing. 50

Minigun
F3 x 2 Aim with the up and down arrow keys and press space to shoot a burst of twenty shots. Use same tactics as uzi as this weapon works just like it. 75

Fire Punch
F4 Press space to kick, jump up and dig the roof a little bit before returning to the ground. Use to knock worms off screen/in water when you don't want them to go as far as a dragonball makes them go. Or when there is an obstacle in the way and you want the worm to go over it. Remeber that the Fire Punch and Dragonball *always* do 30 pts damage on hit. 30

Dragon Ball
F4 x 2 Press space to launch a dragonball straight forward. The ball will disappear if it hits a worm or solid ground, if it hit a worm, it will kick that away. If it doesn't hit anything, it will also disappear after traveling for some time. Use to knock worms to their death like the Fire punch but when you want them to go more concentrated forward and longer. 30

Dynamite
F5 Simply press space to lay the dynamite on the ground. After 5 secs the dynamite will explode, hopefully not on you. In Worms Reinforcements you can aim with the up and down arrows and press and hold down the space key for as much power you want for the throw. Use in large groups of enemy worms rather than just on one. Can also be used to pull worms in water due to the explosion power. Worms who have health 65- are easy to get out of action with this one. In reinforcements you can aim and throw the dynamite which makes it even easier to be on safe distance, but stay close to your enemy when you drop it, if you want to do much damage. The key to get the perfect max 75 point hit is to lay the dynamite e.g. on top of an enemy worm's head so when the explosion comes, the worm will not fly away, and more damage will be inflicted. 75

Mine
F5 x 2 Press the spacebar to lay the mine on the place your worm is at. After a few seconds, if a worm is detected nearby, it will explode (In Reinforcements it will tick down its fuse first if you have that on). Otherwise it will act just like ordinary mines on the landscape. Note: In Reinforcements a by worm laid-out mine will never dud. Use to block off entrances or just like the dynamite. Note that If you have worm retreat on (W: reinforcements only) cluster bomb or other weapons may be better to use in the same way. 50

Found in crate:
Sheep
F5 x 2 Press space to let the jumping little furry feller out. Press space again to detonate. If space is not pressed a second time, the sheep will automatically explode after a number of seconds. May be recieved in "Super strength" packages in Reinforcements. This weapon is much like dynamite but more trickier to use. Good is that you can be quite a distance from your target worm. Bad is that it's much harder to get that perfect 75 pts hit and that the sheep may not jump like you want it to, sometimes even back to it's owner. Anyway the sheep must be the most groovy weapon in the game, May The Sheep Be With You! 75

Airstrike
F6 Move the pointer around with the mouse and left-click to mark the target. Now, directly the bombs will fall down there, with the mark in the middle of the strike. Use to drop worms standing far away into the water, at crowds of worms or alternatively just to make damage, better to target low health worms in such cases. Only use if you don't have anything else to do, like late in the round. 30 x many bombs

Teleport
F6 x 2 Move the pointer with the mouse and click the left mouse button to set the place to teleport to, and your worm will be beamed there. Note: you cannot teleport into solid ground. Don't waste teleports and don't teleport to bad places. Bad places are close to water or close to enemy worms. If you feel that you're going down, go for Dark Side tactics! Teleport to a cavity and wait out and kill the little suckers who try to get to you. It's recommended to teleport to high places, to be able to choose where you want to go in the landscape afterwards. 0

Blowtorch
F7 Set direction to dig in with the up and down arrow keys and then press space to start digging and then space again to stop. If space isn't pressed a second time, the blowtorch will stop automatically after some time. Note: the blowtorch will automatically stop if it has nothing to dig in. Another dark side tool. Use with caution as caves are dangerous places for worms. The ability to do 15 damage and kick worms who stand in the way should be seriously considered. Note that this along with the drill, *always* do 15 pts damage on hit. 15

Pneumatic Drill
F7 x 2 Press space to start drilling yourself down and space again to stop. As with the blowtorch, the drill will stop automatically after some time if space is not pressed again. Use like blowtorch but remember to NEVER just drill yourself down in the ground, as the enemy will only have to drop a cluster there and the stupid worm's done for. 15

Ninja Rope
F8 Aim with the up and down arrow keys and then press space to attach the rope. When hanging from it, press either left or right arrow keys to swing to the respective side. Also press up decrease the rope length and down to extend it. When satisfied, simply press space to detach the ninjarope. Ninja rope must be the most fantastic tool of Worms. The W2 ninja rope is much better but who cares? Actually you can swing yourself over the place where you attached the ninja rope, from one side to the other. This is very useful but tricky to learn and use (and very hard to explain) but with some training you'll get a hold of it. Also useful for setting off mines. Note: When you attach the ninjarope, 5 seconds will be substracted from your turn time, but no time will elapse as long as you are holding the rope. When you detach the rope, the time will continue. 0

Bungee Rope
F8 x 2 When you have the bungeerope selected, you just have to walk over that precipice and the bungeerope will be activated if needed. Press space to detach from it. Don't use bungy on bad places. Bad places are when the bungee rope extends so that you wont be able get yourself to safe ground. In such cases the only way of getting away with it is to teleport away while your worm is hanging in the bungee rope. 0

Girder
F9 Click the left and right mouse buttons to select from various girder shapes. When you have the one you want, move the mouse to select where it should be, and then simply press space to put it out in business. Note: you cannot put girders into solid ground and you must place the girder somewhat close to your worm. Enclose enemy worms easy with this, not good for much but fun. Protecting yourself with these works quite well too. Can also be used to reach places eg to be able to get over a gap. 0

Kamikaze
F10 Simply (sometimes it's simply and sometimes it just isn't :) press space to make the ultimate sacrifice and give your worm's life for the emperor. The chosen worm will fly fast forward for some seconds and then explode. If in Reinforcements, you can choose the direction of the Kamikaze with the up and down arrow keys. Kamikaze is not used so often, maybe because you actually lose your worm. But if you have more worms than your opponent and his worms have low health, go for it, kick them out of business! 30 per hit, 50 for explosion

Prod
F11 By pressing space you can deliver a tiny soft touch to hmm... maybe a worm and... why not into a nice warm bath? That would be so very nice wouldn't it? <:oP Use prod when a worm stands so that it will fall too long if you hit it with Dragon Ball or Fire Punch. As this doesn't do any damage and is quite twerpish, just to prod someone, it also has a funny side effect that the victim worm's controller will feel really awful afterwards. Or you can say, he feels humiliated. 0

Skip Go
F9 x 2 Press space to not do anything more this turn. Sometimes it is smarter to just wait off and see what your opponent will do. Especially when playing dark side. Although most times, consider doing something. 0

Surrender
F10 x 2 If you wimpy little pink smudge of a worm can't take it anymore, press space. Use this in the year of 2000, on Friday the 13th, between 10.30 and half past ten. That is **NEVER**. Never ever give up. Think of something, just *anything* else, and do that instead! 0
