Worms Gameboy
Hints n' Tips

After many hours of GB Worms playing, I've discovered a number of cool things about it. Some are glitches but also tactics and tips on winning strategies. I'll fix pictures ASAP for the different hints here too.

Getting a perfect hit with the Homing Missile
Under 'PER' in the team stats after a finished match, CPU players often have 1, 2 or even more. PER is short for 'Perfect hits', and state (surprise) how many perfect hits the team managed to make during the game. Perfect hits are close to impossible with normal weapons like the bazooka or grenade, but quite easy with the homing missile. This is how:

1. Mark the target about 1 worm vertically over your target worm.
2. Aim straight up and shoot away with full power.

If you've done it right, the worm should fly up when hit and get stuck in the ground to get out and lose 50 points. If it didn't work, it might depend on what the place where the worm stood looked like, in which direction the missile was travelling, stuff like that.

The Artillery strategy
After extensive research done by me, I've come up with the brilliant conclusion that the changing of the CPU's (and Human's) Level, simply is the health of the worms. That is, a LOW team worm has health 75, a MED 100 (recommended), and a HIGH 150. What I want to say with this, is that any CPU worm just can't hit worms that are far away. So, when you're running low on health and/or worms, teleport them away in a Gameboy Worms-Darkside-like way. Make it a destination that's high up and that has a clear path too shoot your enemy by.

Then start throwing bazooka shots at your enemies, adjusting your power/aim of the shot after every turn to hit better. If only your enemy has used all their airstrikes and homing missiles, this tactic is close to idiot-safe. Your opponents will (in most cases) just throw misplaced grenades and cluster bombs at your worms, and they may even SURRENDER after a few turns, but don't let that happen, it's just boring.

Fire in the hole!
Fire in the hole is a move existing in all Worms games, and as such debatted for a long time. It may be unfair and cheap, but it's still very effective and it works in Worms Gameboy aswell. Just find a small "hole" in the terrain and worm(s) standing in it, and the fun can begin! Exactly which "holes" that are suited for this action are hard to describe, I'll get onto getting some screenies for you to explain it.

The Noble Art of using the Dynamite
Sure dynamite is good for groups of worms blaha blaha, you probably already know that (I've written it at several places on this site... ;o)). But how do I do 75 points of damage with one of those exploding sticks? Is it possible? Well, yes it is. But you gotta do it right. Place to dynamite on a worm's head, and it will do alot of damage. This along with the previous cluster bomb trick is hard to explain, I better get into getting those pics soon...

Leaving "booby-trapped" crates
If you're really into winning against CPU opponents, no matter what foul-smelling tactics you use, this one's for you. From time to time crates will fall down on the landscape, and sometimes *very* close to a cliffside. If you don't take those crates, and a CPU idiot gets the smart idea of teleporting... I think you get it. The worm will be teleported there, get the crate, and oops... Splash! blub blub. Bye Bye computer worm. >:)

What you can get in crates
Only a few things are available to get when collecting crates. The following list covers all, so read this so you dont be dissapointed...

1 x Sheep
1 x Teleport
1 x Banana bomb
1 x Cluster bomb
1 x Airstrike
Minigun

That's all. Not many, but it makes the chance of getting a devastating banana bomb greater! :)
