Worms: Armageddon
Weapons
Page 1

The Armageddon weapons are here, and they're not toys. Read the following security information to be on the safe side, and use 'em with caution! :) Note: The weapon descriptions are for 3-star power settings.

After writing a "How to use" for a few weapons, I grew tired of it. So it's only available for some of the first weapons. I think you know how to use the weapons pretty good, and it saves me alot of time not to write about it. If you want to know how to use a weapon, look for it at the Worms 2 or Worms weapons guides, or mail me.

Stuff How to Use Hints and Tips

N/A
Jetpack
Collectable- Utility
N/A
  • Activate the Jetpack by pressing space. Use the up, left and right arrowkeys to steer your worm upwards and to either sides. You have 30 in "fuel" at your disposal, and you better move carefully, it's not much! The fuel will only be drawn from your tank when you move your worm.
The weapon icon by your worm is the active weapon, to use it while having the jetpack active, press enter. After you have released a weapon from the jetpack, you will have unlimited fuel until the retreat time is up. A worm using the jetpack is invulnerable to fall damage. Have in mind that jetpack, unlike the ninjarope, cannot be used in mid-jump. Lasts until the fuel is out.
  • Save your jetpacks for moments when you'd like to move fast from one place to another, like late in the round
  • If any long-fuse mines are on the landscape, you can use the jetpack to "push" them onto enemy worms. Tough move to perform, but possible
  • Low-gravity in conjunction with jetpack will make moving your worm through the air easier. Think twice before using two utilities like this in one turn though

  • N/A
    Low-Gravity
    Collectable- Utility
    N/A
  • Press the spacebar to activate the low gravity. Everything that is affected by gravity, like worms, grenades, mines, jumps etc. wont be as much affected by that now. That is, worms will fly/fall longer when any weapon is used on them, and your worm will jump longer/higher. Lasts for 1 turn.
  • There are hundreds of ways you can use the low gravity in, be creative and you'll learn more as you play. Here are a few examples:
  • Use it to jump higher and get up to higher ground
  • Use it in conjunction with Baseball bat to make a sure home-run from anywhere on top of an island terrain!
  • Use it with a dragon ball or fire punch to throw away worms atleast as long as a normal baseball bat.

  • N/A
    Fast Walk
    Collectable- Utility
    N/A
  • Press space to turn the fast walk on. Like it says, it will make your worm(s) walk much faster. Jumping speed is normal though. Lasts for 1 turn.
  • Fast walk is ideal for short-turn games when you need to walk from one place to another in a short time
  • Save this utility until you really need it
  • You can use select worm to select other worms to move fast in one turn
  • When using fast walk, try to avoid jumping, as you walk faster than you jump

  • N/A
    Laser Sight
    Collectable- Utility
    N/A
  • Press space to turn the laser sight on. The following weapons will have a line of dots to make aiming easier: Shotgun, Handgun, Uzi, Minigun, Longbow and Kamikaze. Remember that the aiming line will disappear when you press space to use any of these weapons. Lasts for 1 turn.
  • Good when you need to make a distance shot, and could use some aim aid.
  • Even though the line is straight, remember that the uzi, handgun and minigun bursts of shots will spread out on long distances

  • N/A
    Invisibility
    Collectable- Utility
    N/A
  • Press space to activate and all your worms will instantly become invisible to your opponent(s). The invisibility will last until you use a weapon that could hurt other worms, then your worms will become visible at once. You can still place girders and alike without getting revealed though. If your opponent hits any of your worms, those worms will still be invisible, but dustclouds show if they fall from high heights. Note: Invisibility is ONLY available in games played on WormNET or a LAN.
  • Your worms might be invisible, but there are still many ways for your opponent to find out where they are:
  • The screen will still center in on a invisible worm that is performing its turn, giving a small idea of where it could be
  • Invisible worms can still be walked on, revealing them pretty good
  • When an earthquake is used, dustclouds from tumbling worms show their positions quite good aswell

  • F1
    Bazooka
    Weapon
    45
  • Press the spacebar to shoot. The longer you hold down space, the more powerful will the launch be. When you release space, the bazooka will launch. The rocket will move in an arch relative to gravity and wind, and will explode on impact
  • Use the wind to perform cool bazooka moves, and always check the wind before shooting
  • Can be launched from a rope
  • Try to hit target worms so they will be pushed towards ground, to do more damage, eg: If a worm is standing on flat landscape, hit it on the head and if it's standing by a wall, hit it on the side
  • Bazooka rockets can be bounced on the water like baseball batted worms; just aim parallell to the water level and shoot with full power
  • The bazooka can be used to throw worms into the water, but other weapons like the shotgun and the longbow work better for that

  • F1x2
    Homing-Missile
    Weapon
    45
  • Move the pointer and click the left mousebutton to mark your target. Aim with the up and down arrow keys. Press space to shoot, the longer you hold it down, the more powerful will the launch be. The missile will act like a bazooka rocket for 1 second and then home in on its target. Affected by wind and gravity
  • The homing missile will home directly into it's target, that is, it won't dodge any parts of terrain in its path
  • Homing missile is among the few weapons that can travel underwater
  • The missile will hit depending on how far it has to travel to its target, the closer, the more exact hit
  • Use the homing missile on a nearby worm from a rope, to hit your target good

  • F1x3
    Mortar
    Weapon
    20 for explosion + 20 x 6 bombs
  • Use the up and down arrow keys to aim. Press space and the mortar rocket will be launched at full power. When it hits ground or a worm, it will explode and send out small clusters, causing minor devastation. Affected by gravity and slightly by wind.
  • The clusters will be thrown out on an angle depending on the angle of the rocket, and how the ground where it hit looks
  • Learning how to launch the mortar so all the clusters will hit, can do massive amounts of damage. Up to 60 atleast
  • One classic way of launching the mortar, is from a rope. Try it for fun
  • "How to use" section removed from following part of guide

    F1x4
    Homing Pigeon
    Weapon
    75
  • A homing pigeon is not a trusty weapon, so be sure about that it will be able to hit before releasing it
  • The closer and the less obstacles in its path, the more exact will it hit
  • Release the pigeon from a rope to hit a nearby worm, and you'll hit 'em pretty good
  • Unlike some other homing weapons, the pigeon will drown if it's shot into the water

  • F1x5
    Sheep Launcher
    Weapon
    75
  • After you have released the sheep, you can't blow it up until it has jumped on the ground once. It's not bad to keep that in mind
  • Sheeplaunched sheeps act just like oridnary sheeps when they start jumping around. That is, don't trust them
  • Check the path of the sheep throughly before launching, as the sheep's jumping is very unpredictable

  • F2
    Grenade
    Weapon
    45
  • As a true classic, this weapon has many uses
  • Use 5-sec fuse for long-throws when the target worm is in a V-shaped crevice
  • Also use 5-sec fuse when you're just dropping the grenade on a worm's head, so you have enough time to retreat on
  • After the post-patch downpowering of the clusterbomb, its green partner oftenly does a lot more damage
  • Use Hi-bounce when you're dropping grenades down tunnels and alike.

  • F2x2
    Cluster Bomb
    Weapon
    20 for explosion + 20 x 6 clusters
  • A lot of people used "Fire-in-the-hole" tactics with this one before the patch, to easily kill worms in one go. T17 fixed it, and downpowered it, so it's virtually unusable for anything else than just: Fire-in-the-hole. Strange, isn't it? :)
  • When worms are standing eg. on the side of a grenade crater, walk with your worm as long under it as you can. Aim straight up or down, set fuse to 5, and drop. Boom. It won't kill the worm (only if you're lucky...), but it it will do about 68-98 pts of damage.
  • The "wipespread damage" you could use it with before, is now practically not good at all. Might do about 20 points of damage if you're lucky

  • F2x3
    Banana Bomb
    Weapon
    75 for explosion + 75 x 5 bananas
  • Ah, soft fruit! Use grenade tactics, and stay away from the explosion!
  • You can also use "airstrike" tactics. Set fuse to 1 or 2 secs, and throw the banana bomb up in the air, so it will blow over your enemies. Fruit-rain! :)

  • F2x4
    Viking Axe
    Weapon
    N/A (Halves health)
  • Good for 200-health games, and/or when worms are grouped up
  • Double Damage has no effect on this weapon
  • Halve a worm's health (100-health games), and then next turn use a shotgun to finish him off!
  • The only way to kill a worm with this weapon, is when it has only 1 point of health.

  • F2x5
    Earthquake
    Weapon
    N/A
  • This one will shake the landscape, so any worms that are close to the water will most likely drown
  • The earthquake also shakes down other things like crates, barrels, mines etc
  • Earthquake will also sink the landscape a bit
  • No worms will be damaged by this weapon, but they might be so because of the fall damage
  • Use this weapon when you want to find out where your invisible enemies are hiding. Hint: look for the dust clouds...
