Because of the immense succes of the first worms game, Team 17
decided to make a sequel. It was released in 1997 and using their fantastic imagination they came up
with the name Worms 2. This time again the idea of the game wasn't
changed. Instead the idea was to make a more player friendly game with
better graphics in higher resolution, plus, some extra, all new, weapons.
And that's what they did. Altough I think the very best changes is that you
can play it over the Internet instead of blowing those boring computer
players to hell all day long. The ability to be able to more exactly change the
in game options and the new funny weapons are not unwelcomed additions either.
The graphics and, most of all, the animations are great, but I think
the old classic graphics had a spirit which Team 17 not has managed to
remake. And I think the old landscapes were far more funnier to play on
than the new. It's something about how easy it is to get to one place to
another on them. Also the new level music is a bit boring, shame on you
Bjorn! (Geez, can't I find anything more to complain about?)
Overall rating out of five worms:
Demo
There has been three Worms 2 demos released so far, two basic ones
and one with ability to play on the Internet. You can also choose whether to
download an intro movie or not with the two first ones.

Screenshots
These screenshots are quite early so everything is not like it is in
the final version, but I didn't got hold of any other and I guess these're better
than nothing.
The FMV's
The new FMV's really are fantastic. They're drawn is such a well done
way and most of all they really are funny. I laugh at them every time I
see them. The Worms 2 FMV's is a reason to buy the game I think.
Unfortunately, because of some driver trouble with directx, I haven't
got them to work perfectly good yet. But, I got some stills for you:
Cheats
Sure, I've got some cheats for you twerps out there as well, just type
it (with asteriscs) in the game and press backspace to activate.
**sheepheaven**
Makes all crates contain sheepthings, like: Cloned Sheep, Sheep Strike etc.
**backflip**
Makes worms do a nice backflip upon pressing backspace twice.
**redblood**
Makes worms "bleed" when hurt. Wow.
**godmode**
Makes worms only to be killed by drowning.
**highjump**
Makes worms jump high (what did you think?).
**supershopper**
Makes crates containing secret weapons teleport in. Cool cheat actually.
**suicidebomber**
Makes worms able to blow themselves up instead of kamikaze.
And also there's some useful cheats which you write in the Terrain
code:
OSSETT
Makes you able to play on some of the old Worms landscapes: Forest,
Farm, Hell, Beach and Desert.
OnDeadlyGround
Makes oildrums appear all over the level.
Level Codes
Behold! All the level codes for Worms 2!
Phew! That's about it...use these codes but remember that it's always
more fun to play them through yourself (by the way, nice story, right?).
The "fantastic cheatmode" you get when you finish the last mission is
**godmode**, found in the cheat section of this page.
Story of the passwords
The password story in clear text, if you don't get along with the capitals:
Once upon a time there where some small worms who got very very annoyed and decided
to go to arms in order to wipe out their vicious enemy counterparts.
They developed some really cool weapons such as Banana bombs and Magic Bullets.
They trained all night and every day so they would become proficient in their wormly ways.
Some times they would shoot grannies just for fun and laugh about it in the eveningtime.
(And then there's something about password translation and stuff)
We apologise on behalf of all the territories that we went to the trouble
of translating Worms 2 into, but we didn't have time to translate these passwords. Not
that they need to be done. We suppose that you are really expecting to see a wonderful cheatmode when
you finish the missions, and you are right!
