Camaro Cup is a swedish racing class
where only american Camaro cars from certain years are allowed to
participate. It's a one make class where all participants are
using identical material. Due to very strict regulations all
drivers have the same possibility to win which makes the races
interresting and tight. It's more up to drivers skill than
superior material. The fans love it.
The last years the class have been a support act to the Swedish Touring Car Chamionship
and will continue doing so this 2002 as well.
I'm one of two mechanics in team no. 21. The car is owned and
raced by Jan Nilsson. He has been driving in this class since
1996 and I've been a mechanic in his team since 1997.
On the pictures below is our car. The car was built in the spring
1999 and here it's ready to race.

Here's som information regarding the
cars:
Body: Chevrolet Camaro 1993 and onward
Engine: Chevrolet V8 5.7l (350 cu in) >400 hkr >500 Nm
Brakes: Chevrolet Corvette front, original rear
Front axle: Modified original

This is how the old Camaro Cup cars
looked like. Quite a difference! Ther's no doubt that the new
car is stunning compared to the old one. Don't you agree?
