After two 0-3 defeats,
Bayern´s amateurs have hit back. The reigning champions´ "second" team won 5-2
against third-placed team FSV Frankfurt. Bayern were focused right from the start, putting
together some free-flowing moves. And it took Udo Bassemir´s team only five minutes to
open their account through Hofmann. Barely half an hour later, Hofmann netted again to
double his tally. Frankfurt´s sweeper Carsten Henning was sent off in the 27th minute for
a professional foul and from then on Bayern´s regional team were in full control. With
Jarolim and Banaczek leading Bayern to a comfortable 4-0 lead, the match was already
decided by half-time. After the first half, Bayern dropped down a gear and their opponents
came into the game. Bury (60) was brought into the match and scored Frankfurt´s first
goal, while Jarolim scored for Bayern, setting the score to 5-1. Although Frankfurt player
Örtülü scored in the final minute, the Hesse players were no match for Bayern on the
day. The win pushed Bayern up to eighth place in the Regionalliga Sud [regional league
South], leaving them once more in the top half of the table.
