Notes (by Sabazius):

  1. i.e. vibrate. Some practitioners use the entire procedure described in Liber O for Vibration of God Names. Others use purely vocal means. In any case, the practice should result in an unmistakeable physical sensation of vibration. The practitioner should develop the ability to achieve this sensation at very low volumes, and to direct it to any point inside or outside his or her body at will. Constant practice and experimentation is essential for mastery of this technique.
  2. The Name Aiwass is used here as a symbol for the Holy Guardian Angel. The practitioner should substitute the Name of his or her own Holy Guardian Angel in private practice when that Name becomes known to him or her.
  3. The attribution of the five elements to the five points of the pentagram is as follows (clockwise, starting with the uppermost point): Spirit (Aethyr); Water; Fire; Earth; and Air. The invoking Earth pentagram is traced by placing the point of the weapon at the Spirit point (top), proceeding to the Earth point (lower left), then continuing to trace the pentagram, closing at the Spirit point. The banishing Earth pentagram is traced by placing the point of the weapon at the Earth point, proceeding to the Spirit point, then continuing to trace the pentagram, closing at the Earth point. It is important to trace a regular pentagram with equal arms, straight sides, and a closed end point. For this purpose it is useful to establish some background object as a "landmark" for beginning and ending the pentagram.
  4. This Name may be pronounced by vibrating each letter: YOD HE VAV HE.
  5. This Name is composed of the initial letters of the phrase "Ateh Gibor Le-Olahm, Adonai," which means "Thine is the Power unto the Ages, O Lord." Some practitioners vibrate the name AGLA phonetically, others vibrate the entire Hebrew phrase.
  6. The names of the Archangels should be vibrated.
