Each contestant log must contain the name and frequency of the station in question, time in UTC/GMT (accurate to within 60 seconds) and program details (cf §5) in chronological order.

Logs should be typewritten if at all possible. The organizers reserve the right to disqualify contestants who submit logs that are unintelligible or otherwise not in compliance with the above rules.

3 CLASSIFICATION

Contestants shall be ranked according to the total number of station and station points. If two or more contestants have acquired the same number of station points, they shall be ranked according to the total number of program points (cf §5).

The club contest is based on the three members of each club who achieve the best results in the individual contest. The nation contest is based on the five contestants from each country who have achieved the best results in the individual contest.

The score for each club/nation is calculated by adding up the individual classifications of the contestants above. The club/country with the lowest score has won.

Entrants will automatically also take part in National Championships, further details can be found in the leading DX-magazines of each country.

4 STATION POINTS

Each station heard in the contest shall equal a certain amount of station points. This will depend on the amount of contestants having heard that particular station. Thus, the number of stations points awarded to each station is calculated using the following formula:

101-the percentage of contestants who have heard the station and being approved a certain station = number of station points. No fractions of points will be used.
E.g. if only 1 percent of the contestant have heard and being approved a certain station, the number of station points will be 100. If everybody has heard and being approved the station, the number of station points will be 1.

In order to obtain points for a specific station, at least one reported program detail has to be judged correct, alternatively a close description of the program (cf. below).

5 PROGRAM POINTS

One program points will be awarded for each program detail, which is judged to be correct by the organizing committee. Only the following will be accepted as correct program details:

- announced music of at least 60 seconds duration. Title, artist or composer.
- commercials: name or type product, name of company
- names of presenters and/or of person interviewed
- spoken features of minimum 120 seconds duration: A brief description of the topic

If a contestant has heard a station but is unable to supply any program details according to the specification above, he or she may instead supply a description detailing the broadcast as scrupulously as possible. If, in this way, the organizing committee is convinced that the contestant has heard the station, he or she will be awarded the appropriate station points, but of course no program points. The organizing committee’s decision in this matter will be final.

Details that are not accepted: items of newsexcept detailed local news, e.g. traffic and weather information - station announcements, jingles or slogans. These things can however render an approval for station points.

6 COOPERATION

There shall be no cooperation between contestants. Any cooperation may lead to disqualification of all parties included.

7 DELETIONS

Stations may be deleted from the contest for any of the following reasons:

- the station has not broadcast within ±10 kHz of any of the frequencies stated in the contest schedule
- the station has informed contestants of program contents.
- the inclusion of the station has unfairly favored contestants in one particular area.
- the program could be heard via Internet
- the organizing committee has been unable to obtain sufficient information about the program broadcast.

8 PROTESTS

Anyone wishing to lodge protests concerning the contest schedule, may do so on a separate sheet of paper, when mailing his or her contest log. Protests will be judged by the organizing committee, who’s judgment is final.

9 PRIZES

Any customs fees, taxes or levies incurred on prizes won in the contest, is not the responsibility of the organizers or the firms that have been donated prizes. Prizes will be mailed to contestants as soon as the results have been published.
