ARCTIC POWER

THE PURPOSE OF THE CLUB

Svenska

The main purpose of the club is to practise martial art, get exercise and to recieve an internal balance-and for those who are interested- training for competitions.
The club isn´t only concentrated on competitions, since martial art is so much more.

We are also trying to make the practisers understand the philosophial thoughts that lies as a base of the martial art and its practisers.

We are a non-profit-making association. Wich means that it´s the members that owns the club, and brings it forwards. We all help eachother with the different tasks.

Another purpose is to meet and do things together -older and younger- such as movie evnings, excursions and other activities where we get to know eachother. At ARCTIC POWER we think that we in these ways, by physical and psychial training, get a lifeharmony that we feel comfortable whit.

ARCTIC POWER is against all kinds of drugs.

THE HISTORY OF THE CLUB

Jokkmokk's Budo Club was formed 1990 by Sempai Mikael Berg, from Boden´s Karate Kai. Ashihara Karate was founded 1980 by Kancsho Hideyuki Ashihara, who during 25 years has developed it from Kyukoshin Karate, to a more modern and more rational Karate style.
Humbleness, respect and Dojo-etiquette is still there, since Karate is a "Do". Do means way, Karate Do means "the way of the empty hand".
