colorschemes, which totals to a 73 different models and variations. The first cars had an inline type of motor. The later models were driven by a sidewinder motor, which vastly improved the performance of the cars. |

end... Unfortunately Märklin cars was not bought for use in other systems to the extent Märklin had hoped for. Two possible reasons was slower cars and higher cost. This followed in the end of the seventies by a drastic downturn in sales for slotcar systems overall, which made Märklin decide to discontinue the Sprint system completely. The last Märklin Sprint product left production in Göppingen 1982. |
