"Infected" was the first album I heard by The The. An overflow of emotions and an underlying tension that always seems on the verge to break out were the first things that caught me. They have not faded. Listening to The The is still one of the best ways to find that the world really is the way it seems, for better and worse. The music of The The are best savoured late at night, in a state of tiredness and desire. Some advise is in order; the effect is at once tranquilizing and energizing, addiction is a real danger. I consider "Soul Mining" their best album to date. For the beginner I would recommend "Mind bomb" which is very good, but not as difficult to get started on. Links
