Acclaimed as the outstanding new British voice of the decade, Claire Martin has been singing professionally since leaving stage school at the age of 16. She earned her first merits in the Downtown London clubs and on the transatlantic cruise liners. In 1992 she signed with Linn Records who have released 5 albums with her so far. She won the British Jazz Awards three times and "Make This City Ours" became No. 1 on the US-Gavin Charts in march 1998.
