Marie & Lady Upstream's Aquila "ETTAN"
Hi and welcome to our
homepage
It's nice you could visit us and I thought I would tell you a
little about our family and our kennel.
My name is Marie Jonsson and I have lived with Stefan since
1975. We have two sons, Roger and Benny. We live in a little town
called Dorotea which is in the county of Västerbotten. Roger has
moved out and Benny works away during the week, so we only have our
dogs to take care of.
I have always taken care of other people's dogs for as long as I
can remember. Stefan and I got our first dog in 1977. It was a
mixed breed that, unfortunately, was not so good mentally. Then it
was a Yorkshire Terrior, a funny little guy, that lived 15 years.
In 1980 came our first Labrador, a black stud we called Nero. It
was an "impulse" buy that isn't always good to do, but for us it was
lucky. In 1982, we got our first black bitch from Göteborg, named
Pretty Poppet, that at 1 year of age was hit by a car. It was
tragic. One week later we bought a new bitch from Begin's kennel in
Lillpite. Her name was Begin's Knee-High "Tanja" and she became our
pedigree bitch in the kennel. She was very nice, but she wasn't the
most beautiful; a rather thin skeleton and head. She was wonderful
to work with though. It was her I started to train in hunting and
I fell totally for that. It was over for obedience training,
hunting took over and I have never changed back. I am still holding
courses at the dog handling club and am now Treasurer of that club,
also holding instructor education within SBK. It was in 1985 that
we were in Lillpite and Begin's kennel. There Monica Näsman and
Julle Rönnbäck , in one week's time, taught me hunter training and
instruction. Monica and I had many long letters between us and many
telephone conversations because I needed continued help with the
training. It was a fun time and THANK YOU MONICA & JULLE for all
the help.
In February, 1985, we got 9 puppies from Tanja and Nero. From
these, we kept a bitch named Lady Upstream's Akita and we were on
the way.
We bought some bitches from Majvor Näsman of Älvgården's kennel.
She has always been there for me and helped me with the my breeding
work. It has never been a problem to get advice from her.
THANK YOU MAJVOR.
I use healthy and sound parents in my breeding. They look like
Labs and are Labs, a gentle and stabile dog that you like to be
with and train and, above all else, makes a valuable family member.
MY OBJECTIVE:
Sound, healthy and
happy Labs that hopefully will give their new family much happiness
in the home and doing other activities the family is interested in.
There is so much one can do with their Labrador and I want my dogs
to work at something. Not everyone is interested in hunting, BUT I
don't want them to be couch potatoes. An understimulated and
inactive Lab can be a nuisance for his family and surroundings.
Labradors are ACTIVE DOGS!
