Corel Painter 12 resources
A small contribution to digital painters. The following pattern and paper libraries (.patternlibrary, .paperlibrary) are free also for creative commercial use. For convenience, each paper has the same name as corresponding pattern. Avoid painting on a blank white surface. My preferred method: select the paper you prefer as background (when pressing New, or on the paper panel). Instead of painting on a blank surface I recommend selecting the corresponding pattern (e.g., from Painter Patterns/Extra water colour papers) and using the paintbucket to fill the canvas, then creating a new layer and paint upon it (alternatively, one can use the Fill function, Ctrl+F). In this way the paper background corresponds with the actual paper image. Alternatively, you can use the paintbucket to fill the rust patterns (or any pattern) over each other, or over machine patterns, etc. By adjusting the tolerance level, new combined patterns are created. It is an efficient way of creating an interesting background pattern. When images have been derived from photos, there is the well-known problem of "digital noise". But Painter 12's "Smart blur" effect can remedy this.

I also created below icons for use with new brush variants, by altering old icons in different ways. Please download them (right-click on the image and save).
If you don't own Painter you can download a trial version here. I also provide a download of the freeware ArtRage 1.1 (for Win98 and later), with real gooey oil paints, here.
