The time has come...
The annual Speed Modeling
Competition is back. A global 3D event in realtime, with people from all over
the world working hard to squeeze the last drops of creativity out of their
brains and into their 3D-app as the timer relentlessly counts down to zero - way
past bedtime of any sane human being.
This time around we're talking 48 solid hours of modeling, rendering and animation.
Yeah, you got me right: no more sissy stills - it's animation time!
Just as before there are three different classes to choose from, ranging from Intermediate to Expert. You enter in any one of these classes based on your own level of expertise - or lack thereof. According to the rules of the SMC 2001, I will supply a template image and a general description for each class a few minutes before the competition starts. After that it's just you and the ticking of the clock...
The SMAC showdown is scheduled to start in the beginning of May, 2002. The exact date and time will be announced later.
