Tutorrials : Stone Wall
 
1. Create a new file. 200p x 200p Background: Black
   
2. Create a new layer. Fill the layer with white color. Reset colors. (D)

Filter > Textures > Stained Glass...

Should end up with something like this:

I erase until I get this:

5. Select all white.
Save selection.
Don´t deselect.

Create a new layer.
Fill with Your stone texture.

(If You ain´t got a stone texture, go an do my rust/metal effect tutorial. To get the stone looking texture, change the lower the saturation.)

Now You have to deside where the "light source" is coming from.

I choose left-top.

Select the Dodge tool.

Brush size: 2
Opacity: 50 %

Go over the left parts of the "stones" until You have something like this:

Now You can see the hi-lights I created with dodge tool.

Select the Burn tool.

Burn Tool

Brush size: 2
Opacity: 50 %

But now You do the shadows.

Now it start looking like stones in a wall. Just keep working with dodge and burn tool, until You get the result You are satisfied with.

My finished pic looks like this:

All hi-lights and shadows are made by Dodge- and Burn tool.
