Drömorkestern from Malmö has been active for about 15
years. The orchestra has been the permanent feature of the Poetry
Days from the start. here they have collaborated with a great number
of the worlds great poets, accompanied musically, composed, arranged
and transcribed music from all corners of the world.
Drömorkestern has also been active with cabarets, theatre,
film, radio and TV.
A continuing cooperation with the poet and founder of the Poetry
Days, Lasse Södergberg, runs like a main thread through their
activities.
The orchestras unusual combination of instruments and the members
thorough knowledge of just about all kinds of music create an exciting
and distinctive musical spectrum where a great deal of the repertoire
is written by someone in the orchestra.
Bo-Göran Sahlin- guitar, is the latest addition to Drömorkestern.
He is known mainly as one of Malmös most "allround"-
guitar players based in jazz. Here he also showcases his talents
as a composer.
Lars Holm- accordion, one of the foremost accordionists, teachers,
accompanists and arrangers in Sweden. He has appeared in the most
varied contexts with an abundance of our finest artists.
Börje Sandqvist- guitar, piano and composition has been known
for many years as one of our most original guitar soloists. He is
also an accomplished composer with a distinctive ear for melodies
that is one of the corner stones of the sound of Drömorkestern.
Frans Sjöström- soprano- and bass saxophone and composition,
is deeply anchored in jazz. He has been active for 35 years as a
musician and composer with, among other things many commissions
for theatre, film, radio and TV.
Dan Giesen Malmquist- clarinets and compositions, has roots in
folk music, swedish as well as international. As an instrumentalist
he commands all the members of the large clarinet family. Giesen
is also a frequently commissioned composer for theatre, film, radio
and TV.
Together these five musicians create a musical landscape that is
both thought provoking and fascinating. Something to sink into or
dream away in...
